When designing lights/pendants/luminaries that have a frosted glass feature I find it really hard to make the material scatter the light evenly throughout the material, while at the same time showing it’s shape of the frosted glass. Any tips which material could work for this?
Maybe you can show an example of a render result you don’t like. Like this is a lamp with frosted glass I personally don’t like, but it’s a photo.
Besides the shape I would like it better if the light was scattered more evenly (like you say in your post). But since this is a picture, that’s not how physics work.
Since renderers do light calculations like it would work in real life it’s sometimes hard to get the result you had in mind. Simply because light works the way it works (and same for materials). But of course, you can cheat a bit that’s why I think a picture would help so it’s clearer what you’re aiming for.
Yes, as Oscar mentioned, it would be helpful to see what you’re disappointed with and then allow us to offer some tips and tricks to get you towards the result you’ve hoped for.
